About Stéphane Fontaine's Art

Now based in rural Eastern Ontario, Stephane is a graduate of Fine Arts from the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto. His main artistic body of work is highly textured painting, dimensional and sculptural abstract art. He frequently mixes and layers natural materials and themes in a way that allows them to energetically speak through his work. Essentially, his work is simply a conversation with the materials. Like an active meditation, being present in the moment is the thread that ties all his works together. This explains how he constantly reinvents himself in his work through exploration, thereby often avoiding the stagnation of repeating any given style, subject or process he has explored in the past.
